The first Kia CV (crossover) to use the brand's new dedicated EV platform – E-GMP – is nearly here and Kia is calling it the EV6. The Kia EV6 is just the first of 11 electric vehicles the brand has lined up to go on sale by 2026 and this first model is set to be revealed as early as March 15. The Kia EV6 was originally set to be unveiled at the LA Auto Show later this summer, but with the show being postponed it looks like Kia will be hosting its own private reveal.

The Kia EV6 has yet to make a full debut to the public, but so far we have gotten a glimpse at the potential specs the top model in this vehicle’s lineup will deliver.
The top-spec GT variant of the Kia EV6 is expected to deliver the most impressive performance of the CV lineup. Suggested specs show that the top-tier variant is targeting a launch time of 3.0 seconds to go from 0-62 mph. This anticipated takeoff time puts the Kia EV6 right between the acceleration times of the competing Porsche Taycan Turbo and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. the EV6 is expected to deliver a top speed of 162 mph, coming in just below the 167 mph achieved by the Kia Stinger.
The new Kia model is expected to offer more than just a powerful performance, but an equally powerful and convenient charging system. The EV6 in Tampa Bay is expected to be fitted with an 800-volt system which would allow for up to 350kW of charging, giving drivers the ability to add 62 miles of driving range to their Kia after just four minutes of charging. Drivers can anticipate fast charging times with the EV6, with charging from 0 to 80 percent taking just 18 minutes. The anticipated total driving range for the EV6 is around 275 miles.
