2019 Kia Sorento Vs. 2019 Chevrolet Blazer
Mid-size crossovers are a step up from compact crossovers in terms of luxury and ride quality. Built on a larger platform and longer wheelbase, they often enjoy some of the most luxurious interior finishing to match their laid-back driving dynamics. This segment is also a popular one for manufacturers to target as a family-friendly one as the interior dimensions of vehicles in this class usually provide the perfect combination of both cargo space and passenger room.
Of course, the 2019 Kia Sorento has been lighting up our newsfeed as a class-defining model. It’s not, however, without some competition. As fans of throwbacks, we were surprised when General Motors subsidiary, Chevrolet, announced they were going to bring back the Blazer name-badge. The Blazer comes back not as an off-road-ready passenger truck, but as a mid-size crossover ready to compete with the likes of the Sorento. How will it do? Let’s see!

Different Attitudes Toward the Mid-Size Crossover Class
As you can see above, the difference between the models is real. Not only does the Sorento offer more passenger seating, it offers more interior space as well for cargo. While Chevrolet is already competing with the Sorento with their current Traverse, the Blazer fills in a spot somewhere in between the compact Equinox and full-size Traverse that has similar cargo volume to the Equinox but more luxurious features like the Traverse.
For Kia, the third-row crossover is an opportunity to give drivers what they need and what they want. This means delivering a competitive crossover that has seating for the entire family, two engine options, plenty of interior space and a towing capacity that beats that of the upcoming Blazer.
While information about the Chevy Blazer is limited, we’ll be publishing more when it becomes available. In the meanwhile, if you have any questions about the 2019 Kia Sorento or would like to schedule a test-drive with the family-friendly, third-row crossover, contact us today!
