But what you may not know is that some of your favorite Kia models are made right here on American soil. See who makes the list when we reveal which of the Kia vehicles available at Friendly Kia this year are made in the US of A.
All of the models listed are manufactured at Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) in West Point, GA. The Kia Optima was also produced here until it was replaced by the Kia K5 for model year 2021. There are four more Kia manufacturing plants that produce the vehicles sold here in America. Those plants are located in Nuevo León, Mexico; Kwangmyong, South Korea; Kwangju, South Korea; and Hwasung, South Korea. More about the Georgia Plant
Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) is located in West Point, GA, and it is the brand’s only manufacturing plant in the United States. The plant operates 24 hours a day and is responsible for producing about 340,000 Kia vehicles every year. These vehicles are shipped to sales markets around the globe, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Middle East, and Pacific nations.
In addition to the facility’s stamping, welding, paint, and assembly departments, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia also houses a transmission shop, module shop, and a two-mile test track. The plant spans an area of 2,200 acres with a total investment of $1.8 billion.
