Kia Stonic electric car release details and features

What is the Kia Stonic?

Kia Stonic Electric Crossover Vehicle Features and Potential Release Date

Have you heard of the Kia Stonic?  It’s okay if you haven’t, since a lot is going on with Kia vehicles and we have the upcoming debut of the 2018 Kia Stinger sports car, as well as the recent release of the new 2017 Kia Niro hybrid crossover, to enjoy, among other highlights.

What sets the Stonic apart, besides the features we will look at a little while later, is it will likely be another electrically-powered vehicle offered by Kia, after models like the Kia Soul EV and the upcoming 2018 Niro Plug-In Hybrid.  Read on for some specs and features of this next-level vehicle!

Features and Release Date of the Kia Stonic

We don’t have a ton of information about the Stonic as of yet, but it is expected to have an all-electric motor similar in performance to the Hyundai Ioniq electric model, which has an all-electric driving range of more than 120 miles and has an MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent) of more than 130, thanks to its zero-emissions electric powertrain.

As far as the Stonic’s release date, this is only tentative, but since Kia plans to have an expanded line of electric models by 2020, there are still slots to fill the next few years, and we could see a Kia Stonic as early as 2018, or perhaps in the year or two afterward.  As details become clearer, we will share them with you here, at the Friendly Kia blog.
