Red Kia Sonet

Kia Debuts Kia Sonet Compact Crossover

A smart urban compact SUV has just joined the Kia Motors lineup, setting new expectations for the compact SUV class. Kia has finally debuted the Kia Sonet to the world after giving us a peek at it back in February. The Kia Sonet, built for the automotive market in India, is offering first-in-class features, youthful style, and dynamic design. Similar to what the Kia Seltos has brought to the American automotive market, the Sonet is offering capable engines and a performance that is built for all weather conditions.

Kia KX Cross U.S. Release Date and Availability

We’ve written a few times on our Kias You Can’t Buy featurette about the unique models that have come out of Kia’s joint manufacturing partnership in China. The Kia KX5 is like a special Chinese version of the Kia Sportage. The Kia K3 on the other hand is similar to the Kia Forte with a very unique style. The Kia K4 slots between the Kia Forte (K3) and Kia Optima (Kia K5) with a focus on sporty style.

With Kia being a global brand that seems to be enjoying a meteoric rise in popularity and desirability across the various markets in which it competes, there’s a lot of interesting stuff going on with the manufacturer outside of North America. Here in the United States, we’ve grown to love the Kia Rio and its subcompact charm. Slotting in below the compact Forte and above that nice 10-speed bike you got for your 12th birthday, the Kia Rio offers drivers an uncommon number of features and an uncommon amount of functionality in a class known only for its bargain pricing. When it comes to enjoying life behind the wheel, possibilities are an important consideration. After all, knowing that only a mild off-road trail separates you and a secluded beach with excellent vistas and soft, warm sand, makes that activity possible only if you have a vehicle that can get you there. You can read more about this era in our Throwback Thursday/Flashback Friday featurette here. (more…)
