Is Kia a Dependable Car Brand? 

The results are in and it’s just as we expected: Kia owners reported the fewest problems in their new vehicles after owning their vehicles for three years. In this year’s J.D. Power Brand Dependability study, the Kia brand leaped over six spots to take home the top position among mass-market brands. Not only did the Kia brand take home the top spot overall, but the Kia Sorento, Sportage, and Optima also ranked number one in each of their respective segments.

As many Kia enthusiasts know, the 2021 Kia K5 took the place of the Kia Optima in the brand’s lineup. After 20 model years on the market, Kia decided it was out with the old and in with the new and brought in the first-ever U.S. K5 model. Since it first joined the Kia lineup, the K5 has been making major news and earning recognition left and right. Some enthusiasts, though, are sad to see the Optima go and are hoping for one last chance at still being able to buy a Kia Optima.
