2016 Kia Optima Peanut Butter Jelly Commercial Blake Griffin
Blake Griffin is as good at making funny commercials as he is at rebounding and dunking the basketball for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. Which is to say, he’s very good. The second TV ad in the 2016 Kia Optima campaign featuring Griffin continues the theme of being “In the Zone.” The first commercial showed him calmly reading a newspaper while a startled person arrives with a 2016 Optima in the cloud-filled, dream-like “Zone.” This new commercial shows Griffin making a perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich while a new arrival to the “Zone” learns the funny details of just how ideal the peanut butter to jelly ratio is.
Basically, the NBA Peanut Butter and Jelly Commercial with Blake Griffin for the 2016 Kia Optima is proof that the campaign is picking up steam and continuing to make us laugh while we get to admire the Optima’s bold styling, loaded features and great gas mileage. Read the rest of this entry
Kia Future Concept Vehicles SEMA Show
Picture it: A genius leans over a table, plugs some cords into the wall, and flips a switch. Notes are taken, observations made, as the thing that is attached to all of this power flickers into existence.
If you thought we were talking about the birth of a car you wouldn’t be alone, but we were thinking more along the lines of Frankenstein’s monster. We’re not saying that cars start scaring people once you turn the key, but that it takes a great deal of know-how and effort to make a great vehicle. And in the spirt of discovery and cool new cars, we’d like to take a look at a lineup of Kia future concept vehicles set to appear at the SEMA auto show in Las Vegas. The annual event kicks off November 3. Read the rest of this entry
Kia Consumer Reports Reliability Score
When you think of Maytag commercials, you might recall a repairman sitting alone, waiting for the phone to ring. He waited so long between calls because the Maytag appliances were so reliable, is what the commercials were saying. What was good for the customer was what made that guy a little bored.
“Reliable” is sometimes mistaken for boring, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. When athletes are called “Mr. (or Mrs.) Reliable,” usually it’s because they nail field goals in the waning seconds of games with regularity, or because they consistently make clutch shots in basketball, and that’s the opposite of boring.
Well, Kia just drilled it through the uprights, because the just-released Consumer Reports annual report on auto reliability ranks Kia sixth among all vehicle manufacturers, landing it in the desirable “Most Reliable” category. Read the rest of this entry
John Gilliss Boomerz Magazine Cover New Port Richey FL
When you think of Baby Boomers (born between around 1945 and 1964), it’s natural to associate them with people and events that were big in the 1960s: The Beatles, TV shows like “Laugh-In,” Woodstock. But Boomers have remained vibrant for several decades because of their cultural relevance, social influence, and their sheer numbers. It’s hard to ignore their impact, nor do we want to.
Well, Florida is home to a large number of Boomers who like the warm climate and the advantages of living near water. Friendly Kia is right in the thick of the action in New Port Richey, run by none other than owner John Gilliss, who was featured on the October cover of Boomerz magazine. The magazine is, unsurprisingly, primarily meant for Baby Boomers, and the feature article on page nine is about Gilliss’ business approach. Read the rest of this entry
Best Halloween Music from the 1980s
Do you remember the character Goat Boy from Saturday Night Live, who constantly asked us if we remembered the 1980s? Comedian Jim Breuer really brought that odd man-beast to life, as he switched between reminiscing and reverting to his goat state in equal parts. But lest we get worried about human goats stalking the highways and byways of life, he was onto something: There’s a lot to love about the 1980s. In particular, there’s a lot to love about the music.
Big-haired behemoths roamed the arenas of that decade, as fans by the millions rocked the torn jeans and the teased hair of the day. In the spirit of 1980s music and the Halloween season we are now in, here’s a list of the best Halloween-themed hits from the 1980s. The only requirements are the music must have some kind of spooky connection, and it must be a good song. Somewhere along the way, we just might learn what car Duran Duran prefers. 2015 Kia Annual Dealership Convention
If you’ve watched the TV series “How I Met Your Mother” you might be familiar with how two of the main characters have this recurring joke where they salute each other whenever they hear something that sounds like a military title. For example: “Sergeant Pepper,” “General Motors,” and “Private Practice” would all make Ted (played by Josh Radner) and Robin (played by Cobie Smulders) honor each other with a smile and a salute.
So in this spirit, we want to let you know that a major announcement (or more) is heading your way soon with the 2015 Kia National Dealership Convention in Las Vegas next week (the week beginning Sept. 21). We don’t know all the details of what cool tech and awesome pricing will be unveiled in just a few days, but we would like to ask you to give this a salute and eagerly wait for more news. At last year’s meeting, the ultra-luxury 2015 Kia K900 sedan was highlighted, and that is one sweet ride, so we can only imagine what is coming. Feel free to speculate. Read the rest of this entry
Kia Record Sales August 2015
Homer. Tater. Dinger. Four-bagger. Whatever you want to call it, a home run in baseball allows the batter to touch all four bases before scoring. And that’s what Kia just has done, belting a “four-bagger” with its fourth consecutive record sales month. All told, Kia’s sales are up 5.4 percent this year, with 426,160 cars sold at the end of August versus 404,389 at the same point in 2014.
Kia’s record sales in August 2015 included these numbers: Read the rest of this entry
Song of the Summer Clearwater FL 2015
The “Song of the Summer” each year is that track you can’t avoid between Memorial Day and Labor Day, whether you’re at work or out with friends, whether you’re driving in gridlock or shopping at the mall. It’s so inescapable it might as well be an un-killable zombie, popping up every hour or two on your favorite radio station when it hungers again for brains. We’re going to take a closer look at the Song of the Summer for the Clearwater, FL area in 2015 and an ideal car for the situation, the 2015 Kia Forte Koup. Read the rest of this entry
