The 2021 Kia Sportage and 2021 Kia Sorento share a similar base engine and produce around the same amount of power. Kia Sportage models fitted with the base 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine will generate up to 181 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque on the road. The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine in the Kia Sorento manufactures 191 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque.  

Both the 2021 Sportage and 2021 Sorento offer a second available engine option. A 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower is available for the 2021 Kia Sportage and a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 281 horsepower is available for the Sorento.  

Of the two vehicles, the Kia Sorento is the only one to offer a hybrid model option.
