2018 Kia Comfort and Convenience Features
(Editor’s note: Due to multiple instances of copyright infringement, this blog post has been heavily edited to obscure, redact and otherwise remove any mention of the 1993 Harold Ramis film Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray and Andie McDowell.)
The 1993 movie Holiday of the Beefy Underground Squirrel is perhaps the only movie we need for the offbeat February holiday Groundhog Day. This classic film, starring Bob Murphy, depicts a news weather person covering the Groundhog Day festival while he is helplessly lost in a February 2nd time loop. Read the rest of this entry
How Do Turbochargers Work?
If you’ve been car shopping within the last few years, you’ve probably seen the term turbo or turbocharged used to describe a car that has been given an extra speed or performance boost. Is this just clever marketing? Does the T after the numbers on the back of somebody’s car (2.0T, 3.5T 1.6T etc) mean anything? Read the rest of this entry
2019 Kia Forte Specs and Release Date
The legendary comedian George Carlin once said, “Most people work just hard enough not to get fired and get paid just enough money not to quit.” This funny bit is a sad reality for most vehicles in the compact car class. They do just enough to not have the market pass over them and manage to sell just enough units to stick around. Read the rest of this entry
Gulf Coast Road Trip Ideas 2018
Road trips are an American tradition. The idea of packing everything you need in a car and heading out on the open road with music, snacks and friends or family can’t be beaten. While hitting the highway with few plans or sense of destination is fun, many of us have jobs that limit our ability to get lost in the great wilderness. Read the rest of this entry
2018 Kia Stinger Vs. Sports Car Competition
The 1984/1985 Chicago Bulls season saw rookie Michael Jordan take home franchise records for scoring (he placed 3rd in the NBA), steals (4th in the NBA) and the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. Not since Jordan lit up the NBA has anybody or anything come out of the gate with such a promise of greatness…until last year when Kia debuted the 2018 Kia Stinger. Read the rest of this entry
Tampa Bay Lightning News – January 2018
After the supremely disappointing season the Buccaneer’s endured, we’ve grown accustomed to looking toward the Bolts for inspiration, hope and joy. Doing so has been easy this year with the Lightning having spent most of the season at the top of the Atlantic Division, Eastern Conference and NHL. These times, my friends, are in peril. 2018 Kia Forte Vs. 2018 Kia Forte5
Whether fairly or unfairly, compact cars have gotten a reputation for cutting corners. Arising out of the sedan-obsessed 70s and 80s, compact cars sought to provide transportation to individuals and families with a lower price point, and better fuel economy, than their larger midsize counterparts. Gasparilla 2018 Alternatives
Maybe parades aren’t your thing. Maybe the traffic and crowds are a little bit too much. Maybe you have a bad history with pirates (we hear you…). Whatever the reason, the 2018 Gasparilla Pirate Fest next weekend isn’t for everybody.
For those looking to enjoy Saturday the 27th, in an environment that is decidedly not swashbuckling, there are still some magnificent events happening in Pasco County, Tampa, St. Petersburg and the surrounding areas. Read the rest of this entry
The Future of Kia
For many of us, Christmas is in the rearview mirror (or standard backup camera in the case of Kia). After all, it’s been almost a month since we passed the festive period. Lights have been turned off, wrapping paper stuffed back into the crawlspace and our Christmas Trees have come down (here’s where to get rid of them, by the way).
Here in the greater Tampa area, most of us are getting ready to celebrate Gasparilla and enjoy its nautical, swashbuckling fun. Some of us have stayed behind, however, having experienced something so great during the holiday season that we haven’t quite processed its implications fully. Ebenezer Scrooge is one of those people. Read the rest of this entry
