Kia’s New Sports Car Takes on a Pop Star, a Boxing Great, and an NFL Defense

2018 Kia Stinger vs. The Competition Battle of the Things that Sting”

The 2018 Kia Stinger has rapidly moved from the concept phase in 2014, to all-out buzz while on the car show circuit, to production, to soon hitting the lots for real in December 2017! While we wait these tantalizing final few weeks for models to arrive on the lot, there’s several great features we can look forward to with the Kia Stinger: Its top speed, comfortable interior, tech options, and more.

And what better way is there to show off the skills of Kia’s first-ever sports car than by comparing it with other things that “Sting”? So read on in this battle of the Kia Stinger vs. the competition, otherwise known as the “Battle of the Things that Sting,” and prepare to “get stung”!

Battle One: Kia Stinger vs. Sting

This might seem like an odd matchup, with the Kia Stinger, a spacious GT sports car, taking on an international rock star, but the reason why is in the name!

We’re big fans of “Roxanne” (Sting with The Police) and “All This Time” (Sting as a solo artist), for starters, but the famous singer cannot hope to keep up with the 0-60 acceleration of the Kia Stinger and the advanced tech of the Stinger’s color display with updates on G-forces, racing lap times and engine-oil temperatures.

Battle Two: Kia Stinger vs. “Float Like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Bee”

With one solid win under the Stinger’s chassis, now the sports car moves onto the famous phrase uttered by Muhammad Ali, “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” Again, both of these things “sting.”

Oh, Kia, where is thy sting? You might ask. It’s within the very capable powertrain of the 2018 Kia Stinger, with its available 255 HP or 365 HP engine options, 8-speed transmission, and blinding top speeds of 130-167 MPH.

Battle Three: Kia Stinger vs. The “Killer Bees” Defense of 1982 Miami Dolphins

We’re brushing past words and moving onto a flock of football players, as the Kia Stinger takes on the famed “Killer Bees” defense of the early 1980s Miami Dolphins.

The ’82 Dolphins had plenty of success, but in the end they lost the big game (Super Bowl XVII), while the Kia Stinger provides a better value, more space and higher top speeds than much of its competition.

Battle Four: Kia Stinger vs. Sting Operations

This is the toughest test for the Stinger to date, as the GT sports car takes on official undertakings known as sting operations.

We certainly appreciate the planning and strategy of a nice sting operation, but the Stinger has the speed and space to catch up to criminals and keep them contained for law enforcement officials. If you think about it, “Kia Sting(er) Operations” has a nice ring to it. Have we stumbled onto an amazing cross-promotion opportunity here? Probably.
