Tampa Bay Lightning 2018-19 Regular Season Recap and Playoffs Prognostication

We’ve made it to the end of another Tampa Bay Lightning regular season and what a season it was. The only thing better than seeing the 2018/19 regular season go down in history as a record-breaking romp is a well-substantiated hope that this is just the beginning of the Lightning’s new dynasty. If you haven’t been paying attention to the Tampa Bay Lightning this season, holy moly have you been missing out? Kia Vs. Hyundai Model Lineup

Continuing our “March Madness” series where we pit Kia against some of its biggest and most prevalent competitors sees us matching Kia up with a company close to their hearts. Hyundai and Kia, after all, are more closely connected than any other two competitors on the market today. They’re frenemies – sharing engines, platforms and more but also competing for the attention and market share of the same drivers. (more…)

Tampa Bay Lightning 2018-19 Mid-Season Progress Report

It’s hard to believe that we’re sitting so close to the mid-point of the 2018/2019 season. It seems like just yesterday that we were doing the same for the previous season, which saw the Lightning almost make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Although last season seemed like it may have been the Bolts’ best chance to regain the coveted trophy, three games out from mid-way, this season is proving itself to be an even better run. (more…)

Tampa Bay Lightning Progress November 2018

Here in Tampa Bay, we’ve got quite a bevy of sports to gather round and celebrate. While the Buccaneers may not be doing so great (at 3-7 following a narrow loss to the Giants over the weekend), the Bolts are always something for us to be excited about. Having nearly made it to the Stanley Cup Finals last year, the team electrified the division, conference and league last season, suffering only a few dips in form. (more…)

2018/2019 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Season Predictions and Preview

At Friendly Kia, we’re massive fans of our local football, baseball, hockey and soccer teams. We love sports. Being a good fan, however, isn’t just about following the teams that are doing well. In fact, it’s about the opposite. Being loyal to your team despite how poorly they’ve played or are likely to play is what separates real fans from glory hunters. (more…)

College Football Bars in Tampa Bay, Florida

Tampa Bay is a wonderful place to be a sports fan. The Lightning are looking more and more up for another Stanley Cup challenge every year. Rowdies games are incredibly fun weekend events. The Rays are getting a new stadium soon (don’t mistake this for an opinion on whether this should be happening) and NFL games are easy with Miami or Atlanta both a day’s drive away (we kid…here’s hoping for a surprisingly-good Bucs season). Tonight, you may even catch some of us at Curtis Hixon for the road-game watch party that Riverfest is doing. (more…)
