2020 Kia Optima Vs. 2019 Kia Optima
Although Kia spent many years as a brand known only for their low prices, the modern Kia badge is a symbol of trust, reliability, safety, innovation and the type of peace of mind that can only come from an industry-best 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
One of the most exemplary models of this new DNA in the Kia lineup is the midsize sedan Kia Optima. Featuring the timeless and sophisticated style of a midsize sedan, the Kia Optima is renowned for its value, focus on technology and swept-back design which calls to mind luxury sports coupes.

With the 2020 Kia Optima now in our showroom and on our lot at Friendly Kia, we’d like to highlight what has changed and improved on the latest iteration of the striking midsize sedan.
What’s New for 2020 on the Kia Optima?
Having just seen a refreshed style for 2020, little has changed in the way of design or engineering. However, Kia’s product team has made some solid improvements that streamline the model and make it even more appealing than before.
Enhanced Safety Features
While the 2019 Kia Optima’s two bottom trims, the LX and S, both featured Forward Collision-Avoidance-Assist, the high-value trims of the 2020 Kia Optima now feature Forward Collision-Avoidance-Assist with Pedestrian Detection.
This makes every drive even safer.
Better Technology Features
Drivers who choose the EX trims or the range-topping SX will have wireless smartphone charging as a standard feature in their 2020 Kia Optima. Wireless charging allows you to simply set a compatible smartphone on a pad where it charges, rather than fussing with wires.
Streamlined Trim-Level Structure
For 2020, the Kia Optima has discontinued the LX and SX Limited packages and moved many of those features to standard on the affected trim level. This means you don’t have to pay for a costly package to get the added features you want.
Additionally, Kia has introduced the EX Premium trim level which now sits between the EX and SX trim levels, providing features like a panoramic sunroof, interior ambient lighting, a 12-way, power-adjustable driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar support, cooled front seats and more.
